The centre offers a place for craftsmanship and creative work. The first step was to open Workshop 44 to rescue the shoemaker field of study. We are the only place in the whole country where this course with accreditation from the Ministry of Education is still available. It is important to us that Zlín remains the city of footwear and that all motivated people from all over the country can learn the shoemaker's craft here. The aim is also to provide shoe companies with qualified staff and to intervene in primary schools in the choice of a profession. We want to advocate the communication of the industry from a holistic perspective - proper footwear, body care (podiatry, paediatrics, physiotherapy, nutrition) and the effort to increase the self-sufficiency of Czech production in cooperation with shoe companies in the Zlín region.
Workshop 44 is part of the 44 Centre of Crafts, and is fully equipped with machines and accessories for the production of footwear, clothing and fashion accessories. Short-term workshops for the production of own footwear, retraining courses and individual courses are held here. We host pupils and students on excursions and offer clubs and suburban camps focused on the shoemaking craft, but not only that.
The centre also provides a unique industrial space for workshops, lectures, presentations, concerts, theatre, happenings, talks and exhibitions. This is covered by our art workshop. We support creative processes in the fields of free art, painting, drawing, photography and literature.
